In an effort to provide you with the best service and to ensure accuracy in the medications we dispense Kachemak Bay Animal Hospital will provide written prescriptions on request. We respect the right of our clients to get their pet’s medications from the pharmacy of their choice.
Due to the high number of online pharmacy requests, many of which are inappropriate/erroneous and consume a large amount of our staff time, we have elected to allow our clients to interact with outside pharmacies themselves. Many online pharmacies require the written prescriptions be mailed to them. We will not call-in prescriptions, or respond to faxed or phone requests from an online pharmacy, the exception being special order or compounded medications.
We require 72 hours advance notice for prescription requests. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. This policy is necessary to ensure that prescriptions are accurate and to manage our staff’s time appropriately while caring for the pets we see daily.
