Welcome to Kachemak Bay Animal Hospital. Here's what to expect, what to bring, and a few policies to know before you arrive — so your first visit is smooth and stress-free for you and your pet.
What to bring
- Previous vet records — bring them, or let us know before your appointment and we'll request them for you, so your pet's care isn't delayed
- The completed new patient form (below), to save you time in the lobby
- Your pet on a leash or in a carrier — required in our waiting room
- A list of any medications or supplements your pet takes
- Your questions — we want you to leave with clear answers

A few simple policies that keep every visit safe, on schedule, and transparent.
Payment
Full payment is due at the time of service. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and cash. Third-party financing is available through CareCredit, Scratchpay, and All Pet Card.
Leash or carrier
For the safety of every animal in our care, all dogs and cats must be on a leash or in a carrier before entering the waiting room.
Cancellations
Please give us 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Scheduled surgeries are subject to a $50 non-refundable fee with less than 2 business days' notice.
Written estimates
You'll always receive a written treatment plan with a clear estimate before any service is rendered — no surprises.
Prescriptions
Our in-house pharmacy fills most medications same-day. Refill requests and written prescriptions need 48–72 hours' notice.
Traveling with your pet?
Health certificates take planning — some destinations require over 3 months of lead time. Fill out the travel form at least 48 hours before your appointment, and call us for international travel.
